About

Marketplace operations break in predictable ways. Growth outpaces unit economics. Incentive systems drift. Regulatory exposure accumulates quietly. Execution gets decoupled from strategy. I've spent 12 years working at exactly those breaking points, from Series A startups to one of Asia's largest food delivery platforms, across logistics, growth, pricing, fraud, and customer operations. What makes my path unusual is the range. At Truck Lagbe, I built the growth and analytics function from scratch, owned the unit economics workstreams through Series A fundraising, and worked directly with founders to turn a product into a viable marketplace. That was zero-to-one. At foodpanda, the problems were the opposite kind: national P&Ls, multi-function leadership teams, and hard calls where growth ambition, cost discipline, and people outcomes were all in tension at the same time. In Bangladesh, I ran end-to-end marketplace operations covering logistics, customer experience, fraud, vendor operations, and analytics under a single country P&L. In the Philippines, I was brought in during a leadership transition to stabilise national logistics and rebuild the operating model from the ground up, rebalancing growth, cost, rider economics, and regulatory exposure simultaneously. What I do well: --> Own P&Ls and make trade-offs across growth, cost, and service quality at scale --> Design pricing, incentive, and dispatch systems that improve unit economics without breaking operations --> Lead restructurings, regulatory pivots, and org redesigns without losing continuity --> Build analytics and decision-making infrastructure that actually changes behaviour I also run R-Squared, a small advisory where I work with founders and senior leaders on growth, pricing, incentives, and marketplace design. I write weekly about marketplace trade-offs, the decisions that actually move unit economics, and what it takes to lead operations when nothing is clean. My writing has reached 500k+ impressions on LinkedIn in the past year, with over 1,500 newsletter subscribers. If that sounds useful, follow along.

Director, Logistics

  • I was brought in to stabilize and evolve national logistics performance during a leadership transition, with a mandate to rebalance growth, cost, rider economics, and regulatory exposure.
  • What I own and decide:
  • Own growth cost trade-offs for the national logistics P&L, aligning pricing, dispatch, fleet structure, and service levels to support sustainable scale.
  • Led structural changes to dispatch and batching logic, improving utilization and rider earnings while protecting margins and service reliability.
  • Removed a legacy operating model that carried regulatory risk, redesigning workflows to maintain full operational continuity without service disruption.
  • Established and chaired a cross functional Rider Technical Working Group (Legal, Public Affairs, PR), creating a formal mechanism to anticipate and mitigate labor and compliance risks before escalation.

Director, Operations

Aug 2021Jun 2024 · 2 yrs 10 mos · Bangladesh

  • I owned end-to-end marketplace performance for Bangladesh with full accountability for growth outcomes, unit economics, and execution. The scope covered logistics, customer experience, fraud, vendor operations, and analytics under a single country P&L.
  • What I was accountable for
  • Owned country level P&L and made trade-offs across growth, pricing, incentives, and service levels.
  • Led multi-function leadership teams across logistics, CX, fraud, content operations, and analytics.
  • Designed and implemented changes to pricing, fleet segmentation, and dispatch to improve unit economics while sustaining growth.
  • Led a large scale organizational restructuring and talent reset while maintaining operational continuity.
  • Strengthened governance across vendor and fraud operations, reducing leakage without hurting customer experience.
  • This role required making decisions under pressure and imperfect information, balancing growth ambition, cost discipline, regulatory constraints, and people outcomes in a fast moving market.

R-squared

Founding Partner

Oct 2020Present · 5 yrs 7 mos

  • R-Squared is a small, selective advisory where I work with founders and senior leaders to translate data into real operating decisions across growth, pricing, incentives, and marketplace design.
  • My role is not executional analytics delivery, but helping teams close the gap between insight and action, especially in environments where incentives, unit economics, and operational constraints are tightly coupled.
  • What I’ve been involved in:
  • Advising founders on growth, pricing, and incentive structures grounded in unit economics
  • Supporting decision-making during scale, restructuring, or inflection points
  • Helping leadership teams design analytics capabilities that actually influence behavior, not just reporting
  • Coaching and shaping early analytics leaders inside growing organizations
  • I’ve worked with companies across education, healthcare, marketplaces, and B2B services.
  • This work runs alongside my executive roles and keeps me close to how different businesses make and struggle to make high-stakes decisions.

Truck lagbe

Vice President, Growth

Jul 2019Aug 2021 · 2 yrs 1 mo · Bangladesh

  • I joined Truck Lagbe during its early scaling phase and was responsible for building the growth and analytics foundation of the business. My role sat across growth, pricing, monetization, and unit economics, working closely with founders and functional leads to turn a product into a viable marketplace.
  • What I owned
  • Built the company’s growth and analytics function from the ground up, aligning Marketing, Sales, Product, and Operations around a single view of performance.
  • Designed customer acquisition, pricing, and monetization strategies that improved marketplace liquidity and unit economics across key segments.
  • Led growth and unit economics workstreams during Series A fundraising, owning due diligence materials and investor narratives.
  • Launched new revenue models and restructured offline acquisition channels to improve efficiency and commercial focus.
  • This was my zero-to-one experience. I learned how fragile early marketplaces are, how quickly bad incentives show up in operations, and why disciplined growth matters more than speed when capital and trust are on the line.
