• This is an open-source Full Stack Mapping AI system designed to improve the visual clarity of maps while preserving the underlying topology (connectivity and network relationships). It was built as part of a hackathon challenge (Axes Systems x MasaiVerse) to solve complex cartographic problems.
• Project Purpose:
• Maps with dense street networks (especially urban areas) can become cluttered when displayed at smaller scales, making them hard to read. Traditional displacement techniques sometimes break map connectivity or distort essential relationships between roads and intersections.
• MapSense AI solves this by:
• Automatically resolving visual clutter (overlaps) in map features
• Maintaining 100% topology preservation so the map still works correctly for routing and analysis
• Producing measurable clarity improvement (e.g., boosted clarity scores)
