About

TLDR: Product manager & operator with 9+ years in consumer tech and SaaS. Equal parts strategist, AI builder, and storyteller. Creative at heart. The longer version... Howdy there! I'm Helen. 🤠 My journey actually began in Earth Science at the University of Waterloo, but I soon discovered my passion lay at the intersection of technology, creativity, and problem-solving. That first major pivot taught me something I still carry: change is constant, learning is forever, and transitions are invitations to discover new dimensions of ourselves. That philosophy has guided me throughout my product career - from transforming mobile game metrics at Zynga, to leading Microsoft’s shift to usage-based billing (unlocking $18M in ARR), to co-founding Co.Lab (which landed my co-founder Sefunmi and me on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list). At Co.Lab, we built a 70,000+ member community helping others break into tech through real-world projects. While most MOOCs see just 5–10% completion rates, we achieved 90%+ - because confidence grows through doing, not just watching. I’ve successfully handed off the day-to-day, though still cheer the team on from the sidelines! Lately, I’ve been hands-on with LLMs - shipping features using Claude Code and Cursor, and integrating ChatGPT into projects like a relationship OS, a Reddit-based voice game, and an AI-powered trash bag fashion show. I like pushing tools until they reveal new corners of what’s possible. I’m currently exploring what’s next - whether that’s building ambitious products, tightening systems behind the scenes, or helping others navigate their own career transitions. I’m drawn to people and teams that value clarity, curiosity, and a bit of chaos. Life’s too short not to be excited about what you’re doing ~ Note: As of Sept 2025, I've concluded my adult gap year of discovery and am working on something new!
