• Wynk Backend Development
• Platform/Languages/Tools: Java, Spring, Apache Solr ,Redis, Logstash, Mongodb, Storm, Cassandra ,Kafka , ActiveMQ etc..
• Wynk Music is amongst the top 3 music apps with 51m streams per day and 3.5m daily active users. Wynk is build on a highly available and scalable framework that enables seamless content streaming across products.
• My current role involves an active part in redesigning framework of complete backend. Was involved in playing a key role in redesigning Wynk backend and migrating the existing stack to AWS Mumbai. Also took end to end owner ship of content , notifications, artist profile management, along with redesigning the home page.
• Roles and Responsibilities:
• ∙ CMS
• Worked on designing and ensuring the content flow from providers to our system, which involved
• extraction, transcoding, processing and storage of ~3000 songs/day.
• Was also involved in design and implementation of CMS tool along with a UI to monitor all the
• ingestions.
• Was also implemented in active development of content discovery and streaming on various
• platforms.
• ∙ Curated Radio and Artist profile management
• Designed and implemented the radio feature, which showcases a custom curated collection
• for various genres. Also interacted with business, product to ensure end to end delivery.
• Managing artist profile across various products app/web including their automatic onboarding.
• ∙ Push Notification Service
• Designed and implemented Push Notification service, which enabled product to curate/design
• notifications on the fly.
• Scaled the system to support notification delivery to ~50m users in a day.
• ∙ Notification Subscription Engine
• Leveraged the power of distributed computing using Storm to implement notification
• subscription to any artist/user.
• ∙ Design and implementation of A/B framework.
• ∙ Performance monitoring of various infrastructure .
• ∙ Fixing critical issues in code.
