• There are over 17 million street children in India.
• These children often have poor mental health because they don’t have any joy in their lives. They, along with their parents, struggle to barely make their ends meet. Without any toys to play with in their free time, their lives are as depressing as the drab and dusty streets.
• We have hence launched an interactive campaign called ‘Gift a Smile’. This is a next generation donation drive that makes spreading a smile to an underprivileged child much easier and feasible. Our campaign’s flagship feature is an integrated website and mobile application that will allow anyone to donate old, but usable toys to underprivileged children at their own convenience. They can use the app/website to ‘request a pickup’, wherein a Smile Scout will pick up the donation item/items from their residence/designated place. The gifts will then be decorated and wrapped, before being delivered to children living in the pathetic conditions of Bangalore’s streets and slums.
