  • Projects: Railcar Distribution Model, Delphi, Project Management
  • Applied the empty railcar distribution model to three other fleets including a very large boxcar fleet. This led to further modernization at corporate level. Identified issues in application of the complex model and event processing and channeled the initiatives to replace an old real-time system running in parallel. Effort led to a successful implementation of a new and modern streamlined optimization model for empty railcar flow management. The efforts applied the science of operations research to a big real-time and automation problem at NS.
  • Managed the development of a custom marketing forecasting system using an early version of Microsoft SQL Server tools such as 2005 SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS Cubes, ASP frontend. Several hundred marketers were able to obtain the information and enter forecasting data successfully using a large cube as a core business intelligence platform and traditional screens and SQL server database for data entry. Technology has been updated and continues to be used to this day for marketing insights for NS business.
