I’m Rutvij Karkhanis, driving growth at Alex Panels & Black Cobra Group — sister concerns together building a $70M ARR business in interior & exterior building materials. At present, I lead across sustainability, sales, marketing, exports, operations, design collaterals, new market discovery, and product development. A major part of my work focuses on making building materials more sustainable, positioning our products globally while aligning with sustainable building standards such as LEED, IGBC, and GRIHA. Previously, I was part of the Founder’s Office at Accacia, a climate-tech company that measures, reports, and reduces carbon emissions. This experience strengthened my commitment to climate-aligned growth strategies and carbon-conscious innovation. With over 7 years as an entrepreneur, I’ve co-founded ventures like HypeBoxed (corporate gifting) and Career Taxi (career exploration for young adults).   • A career exploration program where we helped over 200 18-24-year-olds explore one career track a week

  • User Interviews with the TG: Interviewed 50 students, and drafted a thesis on how their approach to selecting a career is broken. Developed a solution around it, shared it with the ones who would benefit the most and converted 13 out of the initial 50 to become our first set of users
  • Expert Interviews: Interviewed 20 career counsellors, understood their counselling process and reviewed their psychometric test. Shared our approach and analyzed and incorporated their feedback into our solution. Onboarded 7 of them to become our partner counsellors
  • Competitive Analysis: Started with a broad search and narrowed it down to 8 of our closest competitors. Spoke to some of their users, understood gaps in their offerings and doubled down on our approach with more conviction
  • Positioning & Messaging
  • Analyzed the user and expert interviews to determine how to best position against traditional career counselling or no counselling at all
  • Kept a lookout for what clicks well with the audience in the user interviews. Refined it further based on the discovered positioning
  • Streamlined the messaging across all the customer touch points - webste, socials, sales, the actual delivery of the service, and even our funder communications
  • GTM
  • Content Creation: Created content myself, managed two content creators and collaborated with five other creators for reels and blogs
  • Launch with Influencers: Collaborated with an Instagram influencer and wrote him a script for a reel that got a few million views, 2,500 comments, 2,000 enrollment requests and 200 refined leads
  • Podcast: Created a podcast with 30 episodes to target school principals. This resulted in long-term partnerships with the schools, where we further conducted webinars for their students
  • Community: Created community of 200 explorers. Hosted weekly expert sessions, hangout sessions and roleplay activities
