Seamus Jones — Director of Engineering
Dynamic Customer Focused Leader of Technical Marketing Engineers & Product Managers: You may be asking ....what even is a TME? ->Technical Marketing Engineer Put simply: TME = Translator + Technologist + Storyteller I am lucky enough to lead several technology teams specializing in Server Technologies, Networking Topologies & Sustainability Initiatives. Our results focused team have 3 core qualities: 1. They are the Bridge Between Engineering and the Market • TMEs take deep technical content (server architectures, accelerators, fabrics, power/cooling, networking topologies) and make it consumable for diverse audiences—customers, sales teams, analysts, and partners. •You need to understand engineering roadmaps and design trade-offs, but also be able to translate them into business value, competitive positioning, and clear messaging. •Success comes from being equally comfortable in whiteboard architecture sessions with engineers and in executive briefings with CIOs/CTOs. 2. Hands-On Credibility Matters •Unlike pure marketing, TME is expected to lab it, test it, and demo it. You often build reference architectures, benchmarking results, or proof-of-concepts that sales and customers rely on. •Networking and server technologies move fast (PCIe Gen5/Gen6, CXL, DPUs, AI fabrics, hybrid DLC cooling, etc.), so staying hands-on with gear is how you maintain authority and avoid becoming “just slides.” •You’ll often work closely with engineering, solution architects, and partners (NVIDIA, Broadcom, VMware, Intel, etc.) to validate performance claims and create reusable collateral. 3 Storytelling & Timing Drive Impact •It’s not enough to know the technology—you need to package it into a narrative that resonates with a specific audience: o CIO/VP → business outcomes, TCO, competitive differentiation. o Engineer/Architect → system design, performance data, integration details. o Sales/Field → concise value props, objection handling, ready-to-share collateral. •Timing is critical: you align your deliverables with product launches, analyst briefings, competitive announcements, and sales campaigns. A great deck delivered too late doesn’t move the needle. IF you have all 3 then I want to talk to you about joining my team
