About

http://ammaar.me It started with reviewing iPhone apps in high school until I wanted to make my own. So I began teaching myself design, and pursuing CS to make those designs real. Along the way, I ended up hosting London's first inter-university hackathon, founding a non-profit, joining Palantir and Brex, and launching several side projects that sparked fascinating discussions. The adventure continues as does my curiosity around what we can achieve with technology.

  • Teams I have worked on and led—
  • Files: Built a team and defined the product vision and strategy for the main entry point to our commercial platform where users created, shared, and discover work across their organization. This team was a precursor to our first cross-functional team, Security.
  • Security: Led and helped establish Palantir’s first cross-functional product team within the commercial org—defining what security meant for our platform, managing a team of 20+ people. The team’s mission was to ensure users could confidently secure their work, provide the necessary transparency to understand how security works, and ultimately enable collaboration in an organization via a platform people can trust. Outcome included a successful launch to the Skywise joint venture with Airbus, onboarding 50+ airlines.
  • Customer Success and Growth: Helping scale our platform via product to grow our commercial business by acquiring more users and helping them become experts in the platform via onboarding, documentation, trainings, and other in-platform support mechanisms. Managing a portfolio of five products.
  • Palantir Gaia: Providing shared, live maps to track what's happening on the ground in real time so that everyone acts on the same information.

  • I've also contributed to building the design team:
  • Conducted over 100 interviews for the design team
  • Mentored interns
  • Ran recruiting events on campus for Palantir Design
  • Assisted the Head of Design on revamping team growth initiatives and hiring.
  • Contributions by industry: government, aviation, oil and gas, and cyber security

  • Arriving in London to find that student careers fairs were dominated by large financial institutions, I wanted to spread my enthusiasm for tech and startups on campus. That set me off on an unforgettable path founding KCL Tech.
  • Within a year, it became one of the largest student tech communities in the UK growing from 200 to 2000 members, hosting London's first inter-university hackathon, running workshops led by students, hosting talks from prominent startups and tech companies, and showing people on campus that you didn't have to be a CS student to be in the tech industry.
