• Working in the school district afforded me the opportunity to actively conduct psychological evaluations for over 2000 students from ages 3 to 21.
• Facilitated individual and group counseling sessions which encompassed academic, social, emotional, and family stressors for students in need.
• Directed my team and created a curriculum for treating high welfare recipients, low income students, transient foster care placements, challenges facing single parent and or grandparent head of households, as well as a high number of drug and gang involved households.
• Served on the implementation team of the 1990 IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) where students with disabilities regardless of their handicap or severity were included into the regular education program full time.
• Appointed as Chairperson for the Committee on Special education. Lead a multidisciplinary team whose purpose is to reiterate the state and federal policy for the development and implementation of Individualized education program (IEP) for students with disabilities in consideration of the general education curriculum.
• Mentored and coached 15 newly hired and tenured psychologists around adherence to district, state, and federal mandates.
• Specialized and participated in the development and implementation of successful training programs.

• The psychology program I selected was one that offered a clinical rotation that afforded training opportunities which mirrored almost identically what I was experiencing daily as a School Psychologist. Reflecting on my entire academic and clinical internship experience during those years, revealed that the seeds of my work focused on the creation and implementation of strategies necessary to address the needs of a culture significantly lacking in diversity, equality and inclusion.
• Conducted individual and group treatment sessions with over 60 individuals who had a variety of mental complexities.
• Provided coaching to address complex issues of homelessness, dissociative disorders, multiple personality disorders and gender identity issues.
• Completed Psychiatric Emergency Rotation, Forensic Rotation as well as creating specialized treatment plans for Mentally Ill Chemical Abuser (MICA) patients.
