About

Most technology is built for speed. I build for fit. For over 17 years, I’ve been building products at the intersection of AI, consumer technology, and real human behavior, with a deep focus on the Muslim consumer market and MuslimTech ecosystem. I coined the term #MuslimTech in 2002, long before it became a category, while building community-first products for Muslim users across Asia. That belief—that this market deserved better-designed, dignity-first technology—has shaped everything I’ve built since. Today, I’m the founder of SmartDeen and the creator of Twillion framework. SmartDeen is an AI-first home and family platform for Muslim households. Not an app. Not content. Not a gadget. It’s infrastructure for daily life—faith routines, family rhythms, wellbeing, and focus—running quietly in the background, reducing mental load instead of increasing screen time. Alongside this, I’m building Twillion: a long-term thesis, book, and framework decoding how to build meaningful products and companies for the Two-Billion Muslim consumer economy. Not a trend. Not religious marketing. A systems-level view of markets, behavior, culture, and technology. Where this comes from: I’m a 3× founder with experience across community platforms, SaaS, hardware, and AI. I spent nearly a decade at JPMorgan (Singapore) before leaving to build full-time. Since then, I’ve founded CollabDeen, a community collaboration and payments platform used by 1,500+ communities across 30+ countries; built and exited Kitcod; shipped real consumer hardware into homes; co-built the Halal in Asia conference; and worked with DinarStandard on the launch of the State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) report in Singapore, alongside regional roundtables in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. In 2024, we won the Saudi Ministry of Hajj & Umrah “AI in Umrah” challenge, building a multilingual AI companion designed for millions of muslim pilgrims I also write and speak through Ali on AI (Alion.ai), exploring how AI should augment human life, not replace it. What I believe: • Bigger markets don’t mean simpler strategies • Faith-based consumers want better systems—not louder religion • Trust is a product feature • AI is about context, timing, and restraint Having lived and built across Bangalore, Singapore, and Australia, I’ve learned that geography and culture shape technology more than ideology Who I work with: Founders, investors, and institutions building for scale without losing soul. If you’re building something meant to last, I’m always open to a thoughtful conversation.

Twillion

Founder & Architect

Dec 2025Present · 4 mos · Singapore

  • TWILLION, derived from TWO BILLION, the Muslim Consumer Market, began as a question, not a product.
  • After more than a decade of building, investing in, and sometimes failing at MuslimTech, one pattern kept repeating: the global Muslim market was being approached with fragmented tools, borrowed playbooks, and short-term thinking.
  • Twillion is the response to that gap. It is a long-term market thesis and operating framework for how the global Muslim economy can intentionally design, fund, and scale technology, capital, and platforms in an AI-first consumer world.
  • It distills ten years of lived experience—across community platforms, SaaS, hardware, and AI—into practical blueprints for founders, investors, and institutions who are shaping the next generation of Muslim-focused products and companies.
  • In essence, Twillion takes a decade of learning, mistakes, and hard-won insight, and turns it into a forward-looking plan for the next decade—one where AI sits at the core, and MuslimTech is built with clarity, scale, and purpose.
  • A book, a framework, a full working operating thesis, coming soon.
