I am a Marketing professional with deep experience across the spectrum of consumer, industrial and technology sectors in large global multinationals, local and start-ups through economic growth phase, various internet boom periods and downturns thereafter. I see marketing as a core strategic area for businesses to position themselves to their best advantage, create higher economic value not only for today, but lasting long into the future. Time has arrived for local businesses to transition from manufacturing/supplier role to owning strong brands that help them monetize the true worth of their offerings and build wealth for future. Next era is ripe for building global brands from India and/or expanding appeal of existing brands beyond Indian diaspora out there. There are hardly any notable examples and the missing sauce is marketing. Family businesses need to invest in marketing to position their companies in the right manner, gain respect and capture essence of their success over generations in their brand, which can then be leveraged by their next generation to diversify / expand into new synergistic areas in line with their aspirations. With the boom of startups in India, especially in B2B SaaS solutions, there is great opportunity to put in strategic thought on marketing right at the inception. Larger opportunity for them lies beyond the country borders. A well thought through brand & product value proposition will help them position themselves as world class businesses to customers globally. I am keen to partner with start -up founders and family business owners to help position your brand/organization rightfully to realize the economic value it deserves. Also build brands that are resilient in the face of economic disruption and can adapt to thrive as markets evolve. I received my degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra, MBA from IIM-Calcutta & have continued to pursue executive programs on Leadership, Change & Digital from Wharton, Harvard, and ISB to keep my learning going. I engage in marketing communities/industry bodies actively, contribute my thoughts as speaker, blogger and visiting faculty at business schools. I served on India Board for The Marketing Society (UK) and Governing Body for DMA Asia I support the cause of women empowerment and care for the elderly. I contribute my time on Board of Advisors of BD Foundation . When not at work, I enjoy food, mixology, photography, reading, painting, travel and tinkering in general.
