Sumit has 15 years of professional experience working for leading firms, including IndusInd Bank, Bharti Enterprises, Bain & Company, Mastercard Advisors & SpiceJet, spanning BU Leadership, Digital Business Launch, Business Development, M&A, Strategy, and Operations. In his last role at IndusInd Bank, as the Business Head of INDIE by IndusInd Bank, he led the entire P&L and end to end conceptualization, set-up and launch of a new Digital Bank 'INDIE', spanning 13 products, incl. Assets, Liabilities, Wealth, Payments. He led a large team across Product (PM, UI/UX), Growth, Revenue, Service, Portfolio, Engineering, Sales. Prior to this, he was heading the overall strategy, transformation and M&A for Bharti Group’s Life and General insurance business and responsible for identifying new business entry opportunities in FS. Before this, in his previous role at Mastercard Advisors, he led and project managed teams across 23 payments strategy consulting engagements with client C-suite members of leading banks, financial institutions and merchants across Asia Pacific. Prior to Mastercard, Sumit briefly worked at SpiceJet, where he was reporting directly into the current Chairman and CEO. He started his career with Bain & Co, where he spent 3 years as a Management Consultant, working on 8 projects spanning 6 sectors including consumer products auto, telco, outsourcing, infra and pharma, across business transformation, strategy & due diligence. Sumit completed his MBA from IIM Calcutta in 2011 and graduated from IIT Delhi in 2009 (with Dual Degree in Electrical Engg.). He got an opportunity to lead multiple student bodies during his professional education.
