Every week, she shares her perspective on content marketing, brand building, and freelance career management in her column for Inc.com, The Content Playbook. Prior to her headfirst leap to content marketing, Amanda honed her voice and editorial style as a print and digital magazine journalist. She served as the digital content director at Men's Fitness, and served as an editor at Shape and SELF magazines. Amanda's writing has been featured in several national publications and websites, including USA Today, Marie Claire, Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Departures, Real Simple, Cosmopolitan and Brides. • Since co-founding Masthead, I've worked with hundreds of iconic and emerging brands—from early-stage start-ups to tech stars to Fortune 100 companies—to create dynamic content programming that connects with audiences and turns customers into long-term loyalists.
  • We've developed content for Alex and Ani, Bose, Conde Nast, Dropbox, Eagle Creek, Edelman, Etsy, Food & Wine, Hamilton Beach, Google, IBM, Indeed, Intel, JanSport, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, La Prairie, Marriott Vacations, Meta, Nutanix, OXO, Peloton, Prudential, PwC, Reebok, Salesforce, Santa Monica Travel + Tourism, Tacori, Weber Shandwick, WIRED, and Zillow.
  • People are at the heart of what we do—and I strongly believe in nurturing exceptional talent. My co-founder and I have built the industry's most highly curated and experienced team of editorial strategists and content creators, visual storytellers, and analytics specialists. Mens fitness (mensfitness.com)

Digital Content Director

Apr 2012Aug 2013 · 1 yr 4 mos · Greater New York City Area

  • Charged with driving the growth and success of mensfitness.com, I developed a new multichannel digital strategy and collaborated with my team of 8 staffers and 50 contractors to implement it. As a result, the site experienced a 551 percent increase in unique traffic (from 614K to 4.0 MM) and 455 percent growth in pageviews (3.65MM to 19.9 MM) over an 18-month period.
  • Due to the elevated editorial quality and audience growth, Men's Fitness sold (and my team produced) several sponsored "feature centers" to high profile brands including Gillette, Mitsubishi, Chanel, Amazon and, Zico.

Jvp

Editorial Director

Mar 2011Apr 2012 · 1 yr 1 mo · New York, NY

  • I led content programming and content marketing for Jerusalem Venture Partners' new portfolio brand Citypath.com, a recommendation engine that provides customized advice about destinations, attractions, and events in major US cities. Overseeing the content department, I managed a team of nearly 100 writers and reviewers in developing articles, roundups, and profiles covering all aspects of city living. Because content was needed quickly and at scale, I collaborated with tech team and information architects to design a propriety CMS and database management system that greatly reduced the time it took to build out and successfully launch new cities.
