• Redesigned the information architecture of our admin tools. Led design on analytics dashboards, content moderation systems, and LMS integrations. This work unlocked $100k+ in enterprise sales. Saved at least one renewal with a Figma file alone, which I'm told is not how renewals usually work.

• Ran growth experiments on signup flows in non-US markets. Made the signup button larger. Changed the color. Made a little mascot pop up and follow your cursor around. Student signups increased by five percentage points. This was declared a victory.

• Built the ads design system for Southeast Asia's largest super-app — component libraries, content guidelines, governance workflows. Reduced ad launch time from weeks to days. Created a premium format that delivered 4.5x ROAS for merchants. The merchants were happy. The users kept ordering. I take partial credit.

• Worked on Pause, an in-house leave management product. My title was Product Designer but I did UX research, content marketing, B2B sales, and customer success — everything, because that's what founding team means. We reached $10,000 in ARR while still in beta. Ten thousand dollars' worth of organizations trusted us with their leave management before we had finished building the thing. I admire their optimism.

• I spent six months investigating why gig economy apps are designed as if the workers are not real people. Spoiler: it's because treating them as real people would be more expensive.
• I interviewed delivery drivers and ride-share workers. I mapped user flows. I proposed alternative design patterns. I produced 80 pages of research and recommendations. Nothing changed. The gig economy continued. I received a master's degree.

• Helped build a Wikipedia microsite for the 2019 Cricket World Cup, designed to reach "the next billion users" in India. We made encyclopedia content look like Instagram stories. Users engaged. The pilot was declared a success. The program was later discontinued, the team renamed, and the site no longer exists. This is not a comment on my work specifically. I think.

• Designed a reading tracker app for teachers. The Figma file is in a folder. The folder is in a Google Drive. The Google Drive belongs to someone who left the company. I assume the teachers are still reading.

• My most memorable project involved determining exactly how many chips could be removed from a bag before customers realized they were being cheated. This is called "conjoint analysis." I ran the numbers. I found the threshold. I put it in a properly formatted spreadsheet. I went home and stared at the ceiling for a while.
• This experience is why I became a designer with "ethical considerations." The ethical consideration, primarily, was that I didn't want to do that anymore.

• I primarily worked on my MA Thesis, where I designed a simulation user interface for policymakers to help them respond better to disaster scenarios They nodded politely at the demo. Chennai still floods every monsoon. But the interface looked great.

• I was a team member on the project “Climate change adaptation and Resilience in Periurban Chennai”. Studied "periurban dynamics" which is academic for "what happens in the weird zone between city and not-city." Spent 7 months in this liminal research space. Very on brand for my twenties.

• GLOKAL is a German research institution in Bremen that researches sustainable development in urban areas. I wrote a research paper about Indian Census Towns under the supervision of a German professor.
• Neither of us had ever been to a Census Town. We cited sources. The sources cited other sources. Somewhere, presumably, someone had actually visited a Census Town. That person was not us. The paper was accepted. This is how academic research works.

• Interned at a legendary advertising agency. Assigned to Audi dealership recruitment ads. Somewhere in Uttarakhand, there may be an Audi dealership that exists in part because of words I wrote. There probably isn't. But the possibility remains.
