Sangeeta Relan — Co-Founder

I am an academic and researcher working at the intersection of gender diversity, women’s leadership pathways, and corporate governance in India, with over three decades of teaching experience at the University of Delhi. My doctoral research examines the invisible structural and social barriers influencing women’s progression to senior leadership and board-level roles. My broader academic interests include gender representation in governance structures, mid-career progression challenges, and institutional influences shaping women’s professional advancement in emerging economies. Alongside my academic work, I founded AboutHer, a women-centred knowledge platform documenting women’s journeys across professions and leadership spaces. As host of The AboutHer Show podcast, I have conducted more than 145 conversations with women leaders, authors, professionals, and changemakers, creating a growing public archive of contemporary women’s leadership experiences in India. I regularly write and moderate academic, literary, and leadership conversations that create spaces for dialogue around gender inclusion, professional advancement, and women’s agency in decision-making environments. I have also spoken as a TEDx speaker and at organisations including American Express on themes related to women’s journeys, resilience, and leadership pathways, and my forthcoming fiction book traces a woman’s life journey across generations from childhood to later life. I serve on the editorial board of Unhurry, a platform advocating the integration of mental well-being within workplace diversity conversations. Through my research and the AboutHer platform, my work seeks to bridge scholarship and public dialogue to better understand how institutions and social structures shape women’s access to leadership and decision-making roles. “It is never too late, and you are never too old to become better.”
