Business Manager - Hotel Affiliates Program

  • In this role, I was responsible for structuring the hotel affiliate business from the ground up.
  • The role involved creating a referral network of leading international and domestic travel companies who would be given a cut of commission on successful hotel bookings. Thus the role included striking alliances with international and domestic travel industry partners who would sell our hotel inventory to their customers for a commission share.
  • The role involved a great deal of cross-function collaboration. Worked with tech, operations, finance, marketing and legal teams to set up functionalities for client services such as a live-report interface, post-sales support, monthly commission payouts, and partnership contract framework resulting in streamlining of processes, helping us scale the business. Worked regularly with the tech team, made regular enhancements to the product to improve its market fit.
  • Overall, in this role, I completed 6 affiliate (partner) integrations that generated GMV in excess of INR 23 Million INR within a year. Also worked with tech to launch MakeMyTrip Affiliate Network website for ease of introduction to and testing of APIs by new affiliates, saving 30 man-hours per month.
