• Performed a due dilligence analysis for the acqusition of a Singapore-based HR Tech company for a Japan-based client - scope of work included competitive landscape analysis and developing a go-to-market strategy in the Asian region
• Worked on developing a logistics optimization platform for a Fortune 500 oil and gas company which identified and realized fleet management savings for the client and reduced cycle times of key processes
• Developed fleet optimization business cases for clients in the power generation and oil & gas sectors

• First full-time gig. Learned about unideal work cultures. Had a front-row seat to an exciting time in ASEAN politics that saw Jokowi’s rise to power in Indonesia, Duterte’s polarizing war on drugs, and Malaysia’s first change of government. Learned more speech and column-writing skills, picked up the soft-skill enablers vital for stakeholder management:
• Public affairs consultant working across Southeast Asia, experience in dealing with a wide range of clients from multinationals to senior government officials
• Led an engagement in the Philippines, developing a strategic communications campaign for an energy conglomerate and a senior government minister with a view to attracting more international investments into the Philippines
• Authored monthly political risk reports covering subjects that include the geopolitics of the South China Sea, the political economy of Southeast Asia, and Malaysia-Indonesia bilateral affairs
• Conducted coverage for general elections in Malaysia and Singapore, as well as the Presidential elections in the Philippines and Indonesia
• Established speechwriter for several senior government officials across Southeast Asia, authoring speeches for major international events such as the ASEAN summit and the World Economic Forum

• Throughout university, I did a number of internships with the MP for Rembau; it was a great way to learn about politics and public service - areas that remain a core passion of mine. Learned how to write speeches as well as synthesize data and qualitative findings:
• Served as a research intern for YB Khairy Jamaluddin, a Malaysian Member of Parliament, who currently serves as Minister of Health for Malaysia
• Co-authoring speeches and briefing notes for Parliamentary debates based on research into local, national and regional economic and trade data
• Developing communications strategies, disseminating campaign messages through online media channels
