Research - Recognizing First Person Actions from Egocentric Videos using LSTM Networks

A convolution memory LSTM unit was developed for recognising first person action in
UCF-101 video dataset with the accuracy of 92.5%.
Each memory unit was passed through CNN cell before passing into the adjacent LSTM
unit this gives an additive advantage of extracting new information from memory cell being stored hence played a major role in increasing the accuracy.

Research - Developing vehicle detection and tracking algorithm in Indian scenarios.

Aim of the project was to develop a car identification and tacking algorithm from the realtime CCTV coverage of the ITS corridor neat IIT Madras. Complexity of this was the mixed traffic condition of Indian Traffic where bullock kart and Audi uses the same road.
We were able to deploy a LSTM-CNN based recognition model for tacking and identification of vehicles from video frames for Indian Scenarios for accuracy of 95%.

Research - Sub-Scene classification of satellite images using sub-pixel mapping

Aim of the project was to develop an automated system for the sub scene classification e.g. further classifying urban area into industrial, residential, airport, parking, railway.
We developed a two pass algorithm for the classification of land cover and land use from the satellite images.
First pass is a mixed fraction for dividing into 5 major categories.
Second pass is CNN-LSTM based classification model for sub-scene recognition in each of the 5 major categories.
Sub-scene dependent CNN model was generated for object extraction from each sub-scene category.
