Most students and early professionals don’t struggle to get job offers because they lack talent. They struggle because they don’t understand how hiring actually works. Applications disappear. Resumes get filtered out by systems before a human ever sees them. Degrees don’t translate cleanly into roles. And many candidates never even make it to the final interview. On top of that, AI is reshaping entry-level hiring faster than most institutions can adapt. So the real issue isn’t ambition. It’s navigation. The modern job market is a system and most students were never taught how that system actually functions. That’s why I now focus my work as a job search strategist helping Gen Z and early-career professionals become visible, competitive, and hired in today’s market. But beneath the tactics is something deeper. I built The UNTRAPPED System™ to help people recognize the invisible systems shaping their outcomes, especially in career and job search. Because job search isn’t random. It’s a system. There is psychology behind it. There is science behind it. And there is also an art to it. Once you understand how the system works, you stop guessing — and start positioning.
