About

In short: I'm an experienced Android engineer with over 10 years of expertise in shipping high-quality apps and leading teams. I thrive on challenges and love creating solutions that make a real impact for users and businesses alike. I’ve been building Android apps since 2012, back when I was still in university. I also dabbled in Windows Phone and Blackberry development (yes, they existed!), but Android quickly became my home. Why not iOS? Well, let’s just say my budget couldn’t handle the price of admission into the Apple ecosystem back then. I kicked off my career in India, working at startups where I wore more hats than a milliner, juggling everything from coding to firefighting bugs (and occasionally people’s expectations). Now, I call the Netherlands home. In my last two roles, I’ve been leading Android teams for over 5 years while still getting my hands dirty in delivering features. My expertise lies in architecting, planning, and executing data-driven refactoring processes that not only improve performance but also make apps more scalable. I love solving complex technical problems and fostering a culture of autonomy within my teams, empowering them to innovate and take ownership. I’m passionate about user-centric product development and making sure that whatever I build not only works but works beautifully for the people using it. One of my proudest achievements was leading the Android strategy at WeTransfer, where I transitioned our architecture to Jetpack Compose, launched the app globally in March 2023, and helped us hit 1 million installs in just 7 months. Beyond the technical side, I’m also heavily involved in recruitment and mentoring. I enjoy building high-performing teams, conducting interviews, and guiding engineers to develop their skills and autonomy.
